Proverbs 16:9
9 A man’s heart plans his way,
But the LORD directs his steps. (NKJV)
I recall the moment I stood at the crossroads. Have you ever been at one of those?
This question has started me on a journey to try to recall all the crossroads I have stood at in my life. Were they all midst a crisis? Did I put myself there, or did God? Did I feel pressure, anger or sadness? Those are thoughts for another day. I think now on my most recent crossroad for this writing.
It was one with some “firsts” for me. I was deeply, saddened, troubled and pressed for a decision. A decision that would impact my life financially and emotionally. Have you been there before? It would be the first time I actually felt answers unfolding, in an all night vigil. Have you ever had one of those nights? You walk around thinking… praying… thinking… struggling. You hear conversations over and over in your head. You know the, they said, then I said kind of wrangling? I believe that conversational rehashing going on in our mind, is coming from the enemy. His goal is to cause you to go up in flames and destroy your witness for Christ.
At 3:00 am my answer came. Your answers will come too. The burden suddenly drops away and gratitude and honor for the past is like a sweet smile that falls on your face. I will remember the experience forever, but the future… The future is clearly in God’s hands. You will realize that you are not alone, not ever. Your decisions will come to you, wrapped and delivered in grace. The experience will allow you to deliver that decision, extending the same grace and mercy.
The enemy? He will find himself sulking in the corner. His goal and intention for your life is anger and unrest. He flees when Jesus comes walking with you through the night. Our enemy loves discord! Do not fall for that! It is a trap!!
Are you struggling with a decision now? Take heart. What the enemy intends to harm you ( Genesis 50:20) God will turn to good. He directs our thoughts, our words and our actions. All we must do is bow before Him and have a “Hello Father” meeting. Just you and the Father.
Thought For Today:
How different would my life be if I truly give God a place of leadership in all things about me and mine? What would happen if I place Him in my life, as CEO?
Scripture For Today:
1 John 4:4
4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. (NKJV)
Prayer For Today:
Hello Father! You are so wonderful and good to us!! We let frustrations and the crossroads of our lives cause us to forget momentarily that You are our Chief Counselor, our Mighty God! Your plans for us are greater than we can imagine for ourselves. Let us listen for the voice of our Shepherd calling us to come to You for all things. Your counsel is wise and directs all our steps. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
