Have you stood on a mountain? Do you remember the journey you took to reach the summit? Most generally, we find valleys leading to the mountains. I can recall some journeys through the valleys to get to the mountains in my life. I am sure you can recall some of your journeys as well. We struggle and toil through whatever is required to exit that valley! When we finally get to the top and survey our path, we find that our God in heaven was walking and teaching us all along the trails. It is in the valleys of life that we grow close and go deep with our Father. He has our attention in the valleys.
Scripture for today:
Psalm 121:1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. 2 My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. 3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. 4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. 5 The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. 6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. 7 The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. 8 The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.
Prayer for Today:
Hello Father! We praise you for a new day full of promise. Thank you that You are always so close. Father, we thank You for walking through the valleys with us as we reach our mountaintops. We know that no one gets to the summit without going through the valleys. Though our journey can be perilous and worrisome at times, please touch us and let us know that You are with us. Help us learn from our valleys, the things that you need us to retain for future journeys. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
