The wind blew hard in the night. Part of our wind chime fell to porch and broke. I have paused to look at it several times today. There is surely a way to repair it. There is a message here. Just had to think on it for a few hours.
Have you ever had a broken heart, love, hope and faith? Have you thought that your heart was so broken it could not survive? Or that love and hope was in so many broken pieces that it could never rise again? That you prayed and prayed and your faith was tested so that it seemed it too was broken beyond repair? We all have experienced these states of brokenness.
When satan entered the garden he began the process that would break things in our lives. Trust, love, hope, faith, relationships, health, death. Everyone became eligible to be broken. Damaged so that we believed we were broken beyond recovery or repair.
I don’t know whether God knew that was coming or was totally surprised by the choice that day. But, He is God and He made a way to repair all the brokenness that was coming through the ages. He sent a small babe who would grow up and launch the greatest recovery ministry of all time. Salvation through the shed blood of Christ.
Belief in Jesus as our Lord and Savior does not protect us from being broken in the multitude of ways that sin can break us. We still have the right to choose. Sin is still in the world. Bad things happen to everyone. No one is excluded lest you have the idea that only what pertains to you is broken in some way. Nope! We all have broke parts, The heart especially can be broken until we think we will never breathe again. Loss and grief comes.
My wind chime heart of love was attached to a cross, The fall broke the cross and threw the heart of love to the ground with it. Broken love causes fractures in our hope and faith that life will go on.
What we must hold to is the One who hung on the cross was broken and crucified, buried and three days later walked out of the tomb meant to finish Him and His ministry. He is no longer on that cross. The cross is gone. But He lives on. He heals the broken. He restores hope. He renews faith. The secret is to keep our eyes on Him, stay in close contact with Him and pray to Him. When everything else in our world seems broken, He remains our heart anchor, our love, our hope and our faith.
Psalm 34:18
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
Prayer
Hello Father. It seems the world is broken in so many pieces. We have disorder and chaos. You understand about chaos. Your understand about brokenness and turmoil. Please hear our prayers. We pray your will in all things concerning us, our families, our friends, our country and this world. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
