One year ago I made a decision. It was hard. I finally came to it after a full night of walking and talking with our Heavenly Father. I grew in my faith considerably during that long night.
It seems that God chooses those who seem powerless, to showcase His power. He chooses the one with no recourse but Him. The one whose options are limited. It is that one, He will put a light on. Watch what I can do with this simple, broken, cracked vessel.
If we can take care of our problems without pressure then it is too easy to take responsibility and the credit for the resolution believing it came from our own strength not God’s.
He desires that we stop running and enjoy the blessings that God has placed in our life…now. Do not dwell on yesterdays blessings or the blessings that tomorrow might bring. Be happy with the blessings today…this minute. If we think about what used to be, or what might be, we are missing what is. He enjoys hearing our voice. He also appreciates it when we take a breath and listen. His voice is in the still of the moment.
~Thought For Today~
We tell our children that when their mouths are moving their ears are closed. I believe that is an important truth for adults as well. When we are constantly talking to God about our situation and how badly we need His help we reach a point when we are only hearing the sound of our own voice. There is a reason He commands us to “Be still and know that I am God.” We do alot of talking, but are we listening?
~Scripture For Today~
Luke 10:39
39 She had a sister called Mary, who was seated at the Lord’s feet, listening to His word. (NASB)
Proverbs 1:5
5 A wise man will hear and increase in learning, And a man of understanding will acquire wise counsel (NASB)
Isaiah 30:21
21 Your ears will hear a word behind you, “This is the way, walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right or to the left. (NASB)
~Prayer For Today~
