Be Strong and Courageous

Some of my family and a number of my Facebook friends are experiencing that first of many firsts without their loved ones. That first birthday, anniversary or Christmas. For many it may seem just too difficult to experience without those so precious and so loved missing from their midst.

Many feel the loss of childhood memories, family and experience depression. I venture a guess that just about everyone has known that pain and sadness.

I look in the one place I know the answers are recorded. To the One who charges me nothing to listen to me for hours on end. To the One that, what hurts me…Hurts Him to. What tears at my heart and your hearts, tears at His as well.

This world brings pain He never intended we should experience. Choice in that beautiful garden made pain, grief, worry, fear, illness and a multitude of other emotions a reality in all our lives.

He has a message for all who labor this season. A promise. My dear family and friends…

Deuteronomy 31:6

Be strong and courageous! For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of You. (NLT)

Psalms 56:8

You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in a bottle. You have recorded each one in your book. (NLT)

There is no place we can go that He will not personally go ahead of us. He will smooth the jagged edges of sadness and sorrow. He will catch our tears in a bottle because He understands about loss and He cares. Our part…Be strong and courageous! We are still here for a reason. We have unfinished business. We have smiles to give, hands to help, prayers to speak, love and compassion to give.

~Prayer For Today~

Hello Father! We praise Your Holy name. Thank You for taking our strength and courage, though weak it may be, and clearing a path of victory before us. Flood us this Christmas season with the beautiful memories behind us and give comfort, hope and peace for the future before us.  Forgive us our sins. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
