We all have fear visit us at some point. We experience fear for many reasons. Crisis in our families. Issues with work or ministry can cause anxiety and fear. When we face health issues, fear of the unknown brings a sense of panic. Business deals running off course cause us to become fearful of the future.
When you think about the causes of fear mentioned above, they all had their origin in the garden. You knew I was going to say it. “It all started in the garden.” Right there in paradise, the serpent got into the mind of Eve. Fear and doubt were born. Until then she knew nothing about fear or worry or lack. She went from the “cool of the day” existence in paradise, to the dry, hot, barren wilderness outside the gates. From that point on, she and Adam were going to be challenged by worrisome things. How to live, how to make a living for families, how to deal with pain, illness, and death, wars, famines, etc.
~Thought For Today~
So how do we handle it? Fear. How do we face the elephant in the room, when trouble comes? That gnawing uneasiness that visits our minds. The visitor who whispers the lies that did not originate from our Holy God? A mind that is busy with scriptural truths will eventually crowd out the lies that the deceiver attempts to destroy our peace with.
I find it helpful to write scriptures and post them at my work desk, the makeup mirror, in my car. Places that I will see them daily. Eventually, they become memorized and can be called up the second fear starts to prepare a battlefield in our mind. As believers, we do not face fear alone. God desires that we trust Him so completely that His truths crush fear before it can destroy our peace.

~Prayer For Today~
Hello Father! We desire that Your peace surrounds our minds. That all anxiety, fear and worry is replaced with Your promise that You will always help us. You will never leave us. We pray for spirits that are free of concerns about the things from our past, things we deal with today and the future that is before us. Let Your peace flow over our minds. Forgive us of our sins. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
