Satan is the “god” of this world. I didn’t come up with that. God did.
The world’s “god” has blinded the minds of those who do not believe.
A mind that is blind is compromised so that satan can enter. His thoughts become their thoughts. He removes the ability to desire understanding of the Gospel of Christ. Then the shadow of darkness slowly moves through the recesses of the mind and crowds out the light that could allow Christ in.
Saul who became Paul, had a blinded mind for a time. He persecuted Christians and watched them die. Then he took a trip down the road to Damascus. He was walking, searching for believers to persecute. Not only did he find himself with a blind mind, but his eyes were suddenly blind as well. He heard the voice of Jesus in his sudden blindness. Within three days, his minds darkness had been replaced by light. The rest is recorded history. He would die rather than deny Christ as his Savior.
~Thought For Today~
It would be easy to feel defeat this morning. Real easy. If it were not for one thing. God is God. There is no law that can abolish Him. I noted a post on Facebook last evening that there is no law that can put Jesus Christ back into the tomb. That is a fact. Our hearts beat on their own. No law can tell our heart what to believe. No law can change our mind in regard to Christ. Evil can try, but the “god” of evil is a liar. A very good one. Able to convince the wisest of men, to err.
Just as it was last night when we went to sleep…we rise this morning knowing certain things. God is still on His throne. Jesus is seated at His right hand. One day that hand will raise and point to the earth and say, “Now!” Jesus will rise and gather His children.
Until that time, the Bible is not just a book of stories. It is a collection of the inspired words of God. Jesus shed His blood to cover the sins of all who come to Him with a repentent heart. We can speak moment to moment with our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus. God’s word is true. No law can stop us from praying to Him nor reciting His words in our minds. Our believing minds are filled with light and unafraid of what man can do to us.
So we should carry out this day as those before. Pray. Read the word of God. Memorize the truths therein. Love all. Pray for all. Especially, for those whose god is the “god” of this world. Take this moment to talk with our children and grandchildren about the importance of a mind of light and not darkness. The importance of Christ at the center of their lives and minds.
~Scripture For Today~
2 Corinthians 4:4
4 Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God. (NASB)
Hebrews 13:6
6 So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?” (NASB)
~Prayer For Today~
Hello Father! Father, we need Your wisdom, Your peace, Your calm today. The waves are crashing against us and we have moments of fear, and even anger. We pray for eyes that stay focused on Jesus through the storms the “god” of this world provokes. We pray for clear eyes and minds. We pray for humble spirits that love. We ask forgiveness of our sins. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
