Can yielding to satan ever be an option? If we determine to resist him through our relationship with Christ, he will flee. We also know that he will return again as we will deal with evil until our work is done here.
We need to have complete trust in our salvation through the blood of Jesus Christ or we will give the enemy advantage on the field of battle.
It is the knowledge of our salvation that is our helmet. It protects our head and mind from the thoughts the enemy sends to try to destroy what we know is truth. Our knowledge and the truth of our salvation enables us to be bold in lifting the only weapon of our armor…our sword.
The other parts of our armor are defensive. The sword is our weapon to attack our enemy. It is the word of God. We must go deep in the word of God. Learn our scriptures as we know the back of our hand. We are then armed with words to speak to our adversary. He will flee. Jesus was confronted with satan in the wilderness. He was able to send him away by simply speaking scriptures to him.
Matthew 4:10
10 Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.” 11 Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him. (NKJV)
Thought For Today:
Jesus has clearly given us the proper response to a visit from satan. Speaking what is written in the word of God is sufficient and our weapon of choice for putting satan behind us. Study, study and study some more to place the scriptures of battle in our mind for ready access.
Scripture For Today:
Ephesians 6:17
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; (NKJV)
Prayer For Today:
Hello Father! Our only weapon against satan is Your word. Place it in our hearts Father. Make it such a part of us that we are ready to speak it out in those moments the darts of our enemy hit our shield. Thank You for Your wise instruction on battle preparedness. We ask that You forgive us our sins and for those days when we doubt and fear that You are not with us. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
