Sometimes we just need to be still and find comfort in the shadow. Once again sadness greets the morning. National sadness visits. Though we may live far away from the tragedy, we feel like family has once again been engaged by evil.
As believers, we can do nothing that will ease sorrow more than to pray for those who are there midst the crisis. Those families who find an empty chair at their table this morning. They simply joined their co-workers for a day of work and evil passed through.
~Thought For Today~
What do we do when we feel helpless in the middle of a chaotic world? When nothing seems normal. When things that we see and read reach the status of unbelievable. When all we see is evil working…Everywhere. We remember who was in control as Job fought the destroyer of peace. When all that he held dear was erased from his life. Though distraught, anguised and grieved, he continued to trust God.
~Scripture For Today~
23 The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. 3 He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. 4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; My cup overflows. 6 Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. (NASB)
~Prayer For Today~
Hello Father! Once again we are on our knees in disbelief. Is there no end? We don’t have the words this morning. We pray for relief, we pray for You to intervene. We pray Your tender hands of mercy, grace and love, cover the families of all who gave their life doing what law abiding people do. Work. Father, we need encouragement. We sit still before You, in prayer for our country. Forgive us. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
