Lightening Rod Of Grace

image

“The cross is the lightening rod of grace that short-circuits God’s wrath to Christ so that only the light of His love remains for believers.”

A.W. Tozer

We know that all through scripture we find where God grew weary of listening to the complaining of His children. They whined and muttered to each other. They probably spent more time complaining among themselves than calling out to God. Don’t we do some of that?

He quickly spoke with fire, thunder, hailstones and wind. Destroying everything in it’s path. Just and swift punishment from a patient God who grew tired of dealing with disobedient children.

Thought For Today:

Jesus took what the world deserved upon the cross. He took the full force of punishment for all sin. Then and only then, could God look at us without striking us dead. When we accept Christ, the blood of the Passover Lamb is brushed over us. When God looks at us, He sees Jesus. Our advocate, took the lightening swift punishment for us. He took the darkness meant for us. The beating that we deserved. The humiliation that should have been ours. The Lamb that brought us grace. The sacrifice that turns our sins whiter than snow. The New Covenant forged in His blood. Forgiveness…Mercy…Grace. Yet He is rejected.

Scripture For Today:
Numbers 11:1
11 Soon the people began to complain about their hardship, and the Lord heard everything they said. Then the Lord’s anger blazed against them, and he sent a fire to rage among them, and he destroyed some of the people in the outskirts of the camp. 2 Then the people screamed to Moses for help, and when he prayed to the Lord, the fire stopped. 3 After that, the area was known as Taberah (which means “the place of burning”), because fire from the Lord had burned among them there. (NLT)

Luke 17:24

24 For as the lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other, so it will be on the day when the Son of Man comes. (NLT)

Prayer For Today:

Hello Father! Thank You for sparing us. For your New Covenant in the blood of our Savior Jesus. For the grace You extended to us through Your Son.  Grace and mercy we did not deserve. Hear our humble prayers. No greater love. Please forgive us of our sins. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
