No Vacancy

A “house” without Jesus is property available for rent. Scripture refers to human beings as houses or temples. A residence for the indwelling of the spirit of Jesus Christ. When Jesus dwells in every area of our house, there is no room for the evil one and his followers. They continue to fly around stirring the pot but they cannot and will not dwell in the same house where Christ lives

Evil cannot live in a house whose heart belongs to Jesus. Evil will flee, wandering in dry places, places without life and water searching for a new place to possess.

We must be careful not to sweep our houses clean of the evidence of a Christ filled heart. Scripture says that Satan will find seven of his workers and return and the “house” will be worse than it was.

Thought For Today:
After the experiences I have had with Jesus and the passing of all my birth family I don’t believe I could ever sweep Him out of my heart, my life, my temple, my house. We want to live the best life possible. We don’t want to create a void because satan will claim that space and bring havoc down on us like never before. When satan looks at us he should see a “No Vacancy” sign.

Jesus is speaking to the religious leaders who were rejecting Him as the Messiah. They were men who studied God’s business. They were in the synagogues continuously. They were keepers of God’s laws. God’s business was their life. Still they rejected the One sent to save the world. The One the prophets foretold. Yet they did not believe. The Messiah before them did not match what they believed the foretold Messiah should look like. They had a ridgid idea and even though they saw miracles with their own eyes and heard many reports of miracles by others, they could not move from the order they had established. They were sweeping this Jesus to the side, rejecting Him. Jesus tells them that evil would gather help and return to the house swept clean and placed in order. I wonder if by “order” Jesus was suggesting lawful order? By the book order. There would be serious consequences as the house would be in worse condition than at first. That would become a reality.

Scripture For Today:
Matthew 12:43-45
43 “When an unclean spirit comes out of a man, it roams through waterless places looking for rest but doesn’t find any. 44 Then it says, ‘I’ll go back to my house that I came from.’ And returning, it finds the house vacant, swept, and put in order. 45 Then off it goes and brings with it seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter and settle down there. As a result, that man’s last condition is worse than the first. That’s how it will also be with this evil generation.” (NLT)

Prayer For Today:

Hello Father! We pray that we leave no void where Christ does not dwell. We pray that We place Him as the center of our hearts and souls. The center of our lives. Our everything. Forgive us of our sins. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
