Since the moment Christ rose from the tomb, believers have been persecuted. The disciples were pressed at every turn. They lived with the possibility of death at any moment because of their belief in Christ. Yet they could not deny who Jesus was. All of them but John died terrible deaths because of their belief in Christ. Many of those who believed because of the ministries of the twelve also died because of their belief. Heaven is full of martyrs for Christ.
We have yet to suffer the persecution that the early church suffered. However, we see from the past seventy-two hours that evil has no boundaries. It has presented itself within the walls of a place of worship and participated in a prayer meeting. So it is, we must put on the armor, be prepared to worship in the face of evil, and continue in the things we have learned. We have the battle plan in our Bibles. We have a Champion. We know who ultimately wins the battle.

2 Timothy 3:12-15
12 Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. 13 But evil men and impostors will proceed from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14 You, however, continue in the things you have learned and become convinced of, knowing from whom you have learned them, 15 and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. Jeremiah 20:11
11 But the Lord is with me like a dread champion; Therefore my persecutors will stumble and not prevail. They will be utterly ashamed, because they have failed, With an everlasting disgrace that will not be forgotten. (NASB)
~Prayer For Today~
Hello Father! We pray for courage to face tomorrow with its trials and its blessings. We thank You for Jesus and salvation through faith for all who seek Him. Protect us from the evildoers of this world. Strengthen our faith. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
