What would our world be like if the majority of the population were peacemakers. Merriam-Webster defines peacemaker as 1) a person who helps to prevent or stop an argument, a fight, or a war; 2) one who makes peace especially by reconciling parties at variance.
Wouldn’t that just about remove the cause of chaos in our world? Rather than be a creator of unrest, disruption and attitude, choose instead to be a positive force of kindness, quiet spirited, without attitude. Just thinking about that type of person brings calm to my spirit.
Peacemakers are generally happy people. They are not stirring up problems, they are resolving them. They don’t have a dog in the fight, they are neutral and willing to listen and help those in conflict work through a situation calmly. They listen and speak softly. Just like Jesus.
Thought For Today:
Let us strive to not let anything take our peace. If we don’t have peace ourselves then we cannot assist in bringing peace in those around us. We are just seven days from celebrating the arrival of The Prince of Peace. He came to heal a broken world. He carried out His mission and desired that we take to heart the things He taught and continue being the light when He departed.
Scripture For Today:
Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God. (NKJV)
Prayer For Today:
Hello Father! There is so much conflict in the world right now that it is hard to believe that peacemakers even exist. We ask for the ability to be peacemakers right where we are this moment. Bring peace to our families and friends, our co-workers our communities. Let peace begin with us. Forgive us of our sins. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
