The voice of our children brings joy and happiness. As parents we are available and waiting to hear from them. We want to know how things are with them. We want to hear all the details of what is going on in their lives. We want to help them in every way possible. We are there, on standby, for the good times and when trouble comes.
Our Father in heaven rejoices in the voice of His children as well. He waits and longs to hear our voices. Though He knows all things that concern us, He desires fellowship. He desires an open line of daily communication with us through our prayers. He is our safe place, our refuge. He is concerned, just as we parents are, when days go by without hearing from them.
There are days when we feel like we have stepped onto a battlefield. A war waged between good and evil. Our Father waits to hear our praise and our needs. He steps in to walk us through.
My experience with prayerful communication in sixty-six years has been threefold. I have had prayers answered with some very painful no’s. There have been some maybe’s and there have been some yes answers, that were miracles. Though at the time, the no answers were painful, He allowed me to eventually see they were blessings too. God sees the entire picture. He sees the beginning to the end. He knows what the best answer is.
Our children have heard the same from us during the course of their lives. Some no answers, some maybe and yes answers. Yet they continue to come back to us for counsel. To talk. To keep the lines of fellowship and communication open.
God is our refuge, our help in times of trouble. Run to Him, converse with Him through prayer. Then stand amazed at what happens next. He is always listening, always waiting to hear the voice of His children.
~ Thought For Today~
The past months and weeks, our family near and far has experienced some trials of illness, surgeries, and injuries. I stopped writing so much and prayed a lot. As a family we have had answers. Comfort comes with communication with our Father in heaven. My earthly parents are no longer here to seek advice from. God is indeed my refuge in times of trouble. He is so close. Waiting to hear the voice of His children. He has never failed me. He will not fail you.
We remember this day fourteen years ago when evil visited. We pray for the families who experienced tremendous loss on 9/11.
~ Scripture For Today~
Psalms 46:1
46 God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.(NLT)
Philippians 4:6-7
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (NASB)
~Prayer For Today~
Hello Father! You are our refuge and shelter. Forgive us for those days we try to go it alone. The days when we struggle with trials and do not lift our voice to You first. You stand with the ear of a good Father, waiting to hear our voice and respond. Thank You for Your love for us. We ask forgiveness of our sins. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
