Praying Over Our Children

image

Millions of young minds will arrive at the doors of the world today. They will mingle in the classrooms. They will leave the side of their parents and the safety of their homes, to learn. We, as their grandparents, parents, extended family members and friends have an obligation to pray over them as they go. Pray not only for protection and safety of their physical bodies but their minds as well. We desire the filter of divine wisdom cover them.

It is our prayer that godly people stand before them to teach them not only reading, writing and arithmetic but how to hold true to their faith, live honestly, have compassion for others and excel. That our children desire to be the head and not the tail.

So to our  precious children, we who love you, promise to do our part today and pray over you as you go. A passage of scripture that is excellent to apply to your first day back into the busyness of the world is Psalms 91. It speaks of the shelter God provides His children. May each of you precious treasures have a wonderful school year!

~Scripture For Today~

Psalms 91:9-16

9  For you have made the Lord, my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place. 10  No evil will befall you, Nor will any plague come near your tent. 11  For He will give His angels charge concerning you, To guard you in all your ways. 12  They will bear you up in their hands, That you do not strike your foot against a stone. 13  You will tread upon the lion and cobra, The young lion and the serpent you will trample down. 14  “Because he has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him securely on high, because he has known My name. 15  “He will call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him. 16  “With a long life I will satisfy him And let him see My salvation.” (NASB)

~Prayer For Today~

Hello Father! As our children leave our doors and enter the world of learning,  we pray no harm will touch them nor disaster come near them. You promise your angels will take charge over them in all their ways. You will keep them from dashing their feet on the stones the world will place before them. We pray courage that will enable them to trample evil underfoot. You will deliver them and set them on high. They will call to You and You will answer on the days of trouble. You will deliver them and honor them with long lives and salvation through You. Forgive us of our sins. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
