Steps of Faith

A new opportunity presents itself. It might be a new job, a business venture, moving to a new home. It has the potential to change our future. Before we can realize that it indeed will be beneficial, we have to set everything in motion. That is the scary part. Stepping out on faith. Believing without seeing. Putting our name on the dotted line. Committing. God’s words telling us to be strong and courageous, trust and obey Him for victories and favor.

It is hard to take that first step. A lot of thought and pencil to the paper takes place. For a believer, prayer is a vitally important part of that process. Prayer without ceasing. Prayer for guidance and confidence that we are in God’s will. A deluge of what if’s come from every direction. Scary to say the least.

Prayer has been ongoing and all indicators seem to be telling us we are moving in the direction God is leading. The new venture will be profitable for our families.  So, now it is time to commit to the cause. Often we are required to let go of a safety net, make drastic changes or possibly take on debt.

~Thought For Today~

Moses had died. Joshua would take over the leadership of about two million desert travelers. They are ready to enter the land God said was theirs…the Promised Land. One thing stands between them and achieving that victory. The Jordan River is overflowing its banks. It is at flood level. The Ark of the Covenant must lead two million children of God, across the river to their new homeland.

Joshua’s instruction from God? Have the priests step into the flood level waters of the Jordan River. Progress could have ended right there had the priests been afraid to take that first step. But they walked up to the river bank and stepped into the water.

The waters parted just as their ancestors had experienced forty years prior at the banks at the Red Sea. Scripture says the water rolled back and the priests carried the Ark of the Covenant leading two million people across on dry land, safely arriving at their destination.

Our new challenges or adventures are very similar. If we say we trust God with everything, then that includes our health, our finances, our business…everything.  But we have to be willing to take that first step. God will take it from there.

So put those feet in and walk on God prepared ground to the blessings He has prepared for you.

~Scripture For Today~

Joshua 3:11-17

11 Behold, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth is crossing over ahead of you into the Jordan. 12 Now then, take for yourselves twelve men from the tribes of Israel, one man for each tribe. 13 It shall come about when the soles of the feet of the priests who carry the ark of the Lord, the Lord of all the earth, rest in the waters of the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan will be cut off, and the waters which are flowing down from above will stand in one heap.” 14 So when the people set out from their tents to cross the Jordan with the priests carrying the ark of the covenant before the people, 15 and when those who carried the ark came into the Jordan, and the feet of the priests carrying the ark were dipped in the edge of the water (for the Jordan overflows all its banks all the days of harvest), 16 the waters which were flowing down from above stood and rose up in one heap, a great distance away at Adam, the city that is beside Zarethan; and those which were flowing down toward the sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, were completely cut off. So the people crossed opposite Jericho. 17 And the priests who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord stood firm on dry ground in the middle of the Jordan while all Israel crossed on dry ground, until all the nation had finished crossing the Jordan. ~Prayer For Today~

Hello Father! We pray for faith big enough to put our feet in the water and walk to our blessings. We pray for spirits of power and discipline to replace timidity and fear at change and new experiences. We thank You for Your love of us and Your answers to our prayers. Forgive us of our sins. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
