Appears that my computer has fallen ill as they often do. I called a dear computer tech friend from my past who has the expertise to get it back in condition. Was so good to see him again. That encounter, then brought up another dear friend as he made mention of her.
When I arrived home, I called that sweet friend and in doing that another dear friend answered the phone. Thus, today I was reunited with three dear souls. What the enemy intended to cause me stress today with my computer brought blessed conversations with three people I call friend.
Seems that God always turns chunks of coal in our days into jewels. The kindness in their voices was just as our scripture for today calls it… sweet perfume and incense.
God tucks little blessings into our lives every day. Sometimes they arrive in a crisis or out of the blue. I thank God everyday for my friends. Especially, those who know me and still love and care about me, freckles and all. My day is complete.
Scripture for Today:
Proverbs 27:9 The heartfelt counsel of a friend
is as sweet as perfume and incense. (NLT)
Prayer for Today:
Hello Father! Thank you for the people you place in our lives. Especially, those whom we do not see or talk with for periods of time. Yet when we finally speak again our time with them is as you say…a sweet perfume in our lives. We ask that you bless each one of them this night. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Love that phrase about God turning chunks of coal into jewels. It’s the pressure that does it. Refines it. Shapes it. We seldom like it when it happens to us, but count on it. It will! We can resist and make it more difficult, or we can yield and let the Father do the work. He knows what He’s doing, and He is up to the challenge. He can use a broken computer to reconnect with friends from the past. Give you a kind word to mellow a testy co-worker. And that partnership that fizzled? It can lead to new, exciting opportunities.
Thank God! He is the master of pleasant surprisesl.
There are jewels in every day. We may have to search but they are there.
Yes!
I find that the difference between a blessing and a heartbreak rests in ones attitude towards it alone!
Rena )Earlene) Goodrich
The loss of friendship can be devastating especially for those friends we have held dear. I have experienced that as I am sure most everyone has. I have come to realize somewhat as you say, that if my attitude is of forgiveness and being still that God most always will work it out so that midst the heartbreak we find the blessing.
Blessings to you,
Kathy
