I have known some angels in my day. My mom and grandmothers for starters. Met some others along the way through my life. I am sure many of you have as well.
The saying goes “If a cardinal visits your yard, it is a visitor from heaven.” Well, mine came today. I love to take my camera and just sit in the yard and wait to see what nature will pop in front of me. Today, my resident squirrel was putting on quite a show. I refilled all of the bird feeders last evening. My goodness, birds come from near and far to partake of a free meal. They have virtually eaten everything. But as I started to go back inside, a flash of red swooped past.
It appeared out of nowhere. My first ever, red cardinal, in my yard. It took me by complete surprise. I instantly thought of the saying about heavenly visitors. Wouldn’t it be simply awesome if God would let us see and talk to our departed loved ones, just one more time? There are so many things we would wish to say, hugs that we want to give and to feel the touch of those precious ones.
I think that the minute our loved ones cross over they are so happy to see Jesus and all those who made that journey before them. Can you just imagine the celebration that takes place? No sadness, no sickness, no pain, no jealousy, no bitterness, no worries, no fear and no tears! Isn’t the thought of that just paradise?
Fact is, we can’t see them just yet. But that day will arrive. We are here for a reason. Finding that purpose is the tough part. Looking for those angels we might meet along life’s journey. Hope and faith in the things we cannot see.
I don’t know if there is truth in the saying about this cardinal visit or not. But, I do know that when I saw it, my thoughts went to Momma, Dad, Renetta, Pam, Mary and Cleo, and many more who have gone before. Brought a smile to my face and happy thoughts and comfort to my heart. They are happy, young and alive. I don’t need a cardinal in my yard to convince me of that. But what a beautiful, grand looking bird? One of God’s own creation.
Whatever situation we are in today. We can find peace and joy. We can feel victorious. We can be grateful for all the blessings we have experienced. Even the difficult times offer a blessing. It may take a while to find it, but it is there. Let’s start with thankfulness on this day. If you are reading this, you are alive. You have opportunities to make a difference in someone’s life today. Lets get to it.

~Prayer For Today~
Hello Father! What a beautiful day! We pray for eyes that see the beauty in each day. Hearts that are thankful for the blessings You have showered us with. That we find joy in each day. No matter the circumstance we find ourselves in…We are yours? Whether here or there. We are Yours. We pray that all will come to salvation through Christ Jesus. Forgive us of our sins. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
