The Place Where Battles Are Won

This is war! We have all experienced times when we became so overwhelmed by circumstances that we felt attacked from every direction. That is how the enemy of believers wants us to feel. Under siege. There are days when we feel the enemy has diverted his attention elsewhere. It is during those times that we may let down our guard. Any good soldier always has a strategy in the works. When the enemy retreats to regroup, that is the time we review our strategy and make changes.

The name for the place we wage spiritual warfare?  Prayer closet or war room are common names for the place set aside to connect with our Heavenly Father. It doesn’t have to be a specific room. It could be a desk in a quiet area of your home.  It is a place set aside where petitions are made, thanksgiving is offered and praise is lifted.

The intensity of the attack will determine the level of prayerful warfare. When my children and grandchildren are under attack is the time I enter my quiet space for serious prayers of battle. The illness of our loved ones. Times of overwhelming grief that our enemy uses to break us. There are different levels of prayer. There are prayers and then there are warfare prayers.

Nothing happens at the prayer table by accident. We are called to be champions of prayer. Jesus took time alone with the Father seriously and would leave the noise of the crowd to seek a place to pray. We should do likewise. Things change when prayers reach the Father.  It is the place where battles are won. The closet of prayer…The field of battle for believers.

~Scripture For Today~

Matthew 6:6

6 but thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.  (KJV)

2 Corinthians 10:3-4

3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. (NASB)

~Prayer For Today~

Hello Father! Draw us into our prayer closets for quiet, uninterrupted prayer. We come to that place with our armor on, prepared for strategic prayers of battle, against the things the enemy has planned. Give us the words and faith to pray for transformation in the circumstances that attack us, our children, grandchildren and country. Thank You that You hear our prayers and You answer. Forgive us of our sins. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
