Time Out

The world moves at such a fast pace that we don’t take time to be still. We don’t step out of the maddening crowd to regroup our thinking and reset our priorities. We don’t allow time to regain the strength and energy lost to the pressures and stress of daily living.

We pull children from their play time for a moment in “time out.”  A time to segregate them from the storm they were previously in and let them ponder how they might have responded to the situation more appropriately. Time alone, without noise and distraction so they can think. Think about the words of mom or dad that would redirect them to a different behavior.

God desires that we be still and know He is God. That we listen to His suggestions that will lead us to more appropriate response to what troubles us. He has the answers to every situation we meet but if we are racing around to the beat of the world, we lose communication with our guide.

Is it time to schedule a time out in your day?  A time to quietly lift your thoughts, needs, fears and praise to the One who has all the answers. He knows what troubles you before you lift your eyes to Him. In the quiet, there in your time out, He will comfort you and flood you with new energy and peace for the day ahead.

Rejoicing will come in the morning and the gift of praise for all that He has brought you through.

~Scripture For Today~

James 5:13

13 Is anyone among you suffering? Then he must pray. Is anyone cheerful? He is to sing praises.(NASB)

John 6:35

35 Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst. (NASB)

~Prayer For Today~

Hello Father! Good Morning! We see the beauty of Your handiwork rising to reveal a new day. We praise You and lift our eyes to honor You in all Your glory. We hand our concerns, worries and fears to You for resolution. We come into Your presence seeking time out from the pressures and stress life brings. Thank You for your grace and mercy. Thank You for the forgiveness of sin through Jesus. We are still Father. We are waiting in peace. Time out with You. Forgive us of our sins. In Jesus’ name.  Amen.
