Who Should We Fear? Not Them…

Isaiah heard from the Lord. Trouble was coming and the Lord needed Isaiah to give a message. Do not think like everyone else. Do not live in dread of the things others call conspiracy. There is only one thing to be feared.

We live in a time of many “scandals” and “conspiracies.” We cannot read the days writings or watch a news report that we do not have reason to pause. Fear might be a better word here. Fear of what is happening but seemingly not in control of the outcome. Outrageous things that seem to get worse with each passing day.

Believers forget something very important. We have the Lord. If we have the Lord, we also have His vast angel armies fighting on our behalf.

The greediness and wickedness of Isaiah’s day, demanded action. Instead of worshipping God, Syria and Israel were falling in with the world. War was coming to them with an Assyrian invasion. Once their friends, they were now going to turn on them. Sound vaguely familiar?

God’s message to the faithful? Don’t call everything a conspiracy. Don’t live in dread of what frightens the world at large…the them’s of the world? The only thing you have to fear is the Lord who has Heaven’s Armies at His disposal. He and only He, should you fear.

Compared to what God can bring to us, why should we be fearful of mere men.

Thought For Today:

Nowhere, is it stated that we who believe should sit silent when we see God’s laws desecrated. We are not to become passive and silent. We are to be the voices in our day just as Peter, Paul and John were in their day. We should speak up on behalf of God, Jesus and the Holy Bible. We are not to sit in hiding, in fear. We are to go on raising our families. We are to witness about the truths that we know. We are called to be obedient to God’s word. We are commanded to pray and told exactly how to pray. No way to mess that up.

We are not to fear what man can do to us. It is the wrath of a God who has grown weary with children who desire to live by the rules of wickedness and evil, that we should fear. It is He that should make us tremble. Not politicians, murderers, thieves, deceivers, peace stealers…Feel free to add here, what is coming against you. That is the “them” we should not allow to steal our peace and frighten us.

Scripture For Today:

Isaiah 8:11-13

11 The Lord has given me a strong warning not to think like everyone else does. He said, 12 “Don’t call everything a conspiracy, like they do, and don’t live in dread of what frightens them. 13 Make the Lord of Heaven’s Armies holy in your life. He is the one you should fear. He is the one who should make you tremble. (NLT)

Prayer For Today:

Hello Father! Forgive us when we allow mere men to strike fear in us. We are children of a mighty King. It is You and You only, we should be concerned with. We pray for guidance as we traverse through a world that is slowly becoming unrecognizable. A world that seems to desire evil ways and not Your Holiness. We pray that our focus is on Your will for each of our lives. Prayerful always for Your direction. Forgive us of our sins. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
