I am going to be honest. I made many attempts to write tonight and anger just seeped out in my words. I stopped and tried to focus on goodness. All I can think about is this young pilot warrior dying an unbelievable death at the hands of evil. It seems that civilization is slipping away.
The mother in me cries out. Why, God, why do You not strike them where they stand? Why does evil seem to be winning? I guess you could say I am Habakkuk’s sister tonight. Why? Why? Why?
I wonder what God sees when He looks at this earth? We have let the minority tell us that our Jesus is not “politically correct.” We have let the minority remove prayer from our schools. We are a world at the feet of idols. We have set God on the mantle for a visit ever once in a while. For crisis times. God is asking us, why?…about a lot of things.
Then I remember a precious sacrifice of love. Our Savior fell to the ground laboring over what was to come. The journey to the cross. If God’s own Son was tortured and crucified…He who was without blemish. Why would we not understand when the trials and fears of this world touch our own lives? We are not without blemish. Trials make us battle ready, builds faith and courage.
Thought For Today:
God wants to hear from us, daily. He desires us to be prayer warriors. When our praying ends, He needs us to be still and know He is God and wait. Rest our minds in Him. He needs us to remember the covenant we have with Jesus. The agreement signed in blood that those who choose Him over the world will join Him forever. Every knee will bow. His enemies are ours here. But a day of reckoning will come. God will not be mocked. He wins! Because of the covenant with Him, we win too!
Scripture For Today:
Matthew 26:39
39 He went on a little farther and bowed with his face to the ground, praying, “My Father! If it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.” (NLT)
II Timothy 3:1-5
1You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. 2 For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. 3 They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. 4 They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. 5 They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that! (NLT)
Prayer For Today:
Hello Father! So hard to understand. Our minds cannot grasp the evil mind that is at work in the world. Yet, Your word told us to prepare for this day. We pray for minds that stay on You. That pray to You without ceasing. That witness for You unafraid. That place You in Your rightful place, as our God. We pray that You comfort the grieving tonight. That you ease our worried minds and calm our anger. Please forgive us our sins. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
